nARCHITECTS
nARCHITECTS was founded in New York City by partners Eric Bunge and Mimi Hoang in 1999. nARCHITECTS designs buildings, public spaces, interiors, exhibitions and furniture. The consistent goal of nARCHITECTS across this wide range of scales is to achieve maximum effect with an economy of conceptual and material means, and a positive impact on the environment.
nARCHITECTS brings an open-ended approach to the design process based on clear diagrammatic thinking and an ability to unite a wide array of concerns into a rigorous and cohesive outcome. Complex client identities, layered sites and phasing requirements are unpacked and reframed as straightforward design opportunities. nARCHITECTS balances innovation where possible, with tried and tested approaches where necessary.
nARCHITECTS' work has been recognized nationally and internationally in publications and exhibitions. Recent awards include The Architectural League of New York's Emerging Voices (2006), AIA Design Honor Awards (2005 and 2007), a NYSCA grant (2007), the Canadian Professional Rome Prize (2005), Architectural Record's Design Vanguard (2004), the MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program (2004), and New York Foundation for the Arts grants (2008, 2002), and The Architectural League of New York's Young Architects Forum (2001).
